AD LIB
A week before the ELIA conference in Dublin, six students from Antwerp, and six from Dun Laoghaire participated in
this workshop. The theme was free, but my article (see workshops) was given to be read. The Antwerp students managed
to make the typefaces battle, an amazing sight and a predecessor for more “automation design”.
The CD
The interface looked like an ever changing field, thanks to Frederik’s “Blurfader”.
Frederik wrote even a piece of music.
It took only one week and the result was, again, amazing. The CD-ROM got burned during the week-end and handed out
to representatives of european art colleges visiting the ELIA Conference.
Bob De Schutter: Jellybounce
An interesting font, both usable by the seeing and the blind. An intermediate typeface assured a short learning curve.
Tom De Smedt: …
Industrial type. Industrial sounds. Kaution! Kontrol! Listen to the new type.
Gary Gill: Chuck
Why he called this “Chuck”?
Why Not?
If a font lacks facial expressions then why not just add them. By painting your face!
Frederik De Bleser: Typolution
MS Word on steroids! The word processor from hell.
When you type the font atually helps you, and the truth appears right between the lines!
Nico Potvin: …
Small is beautiful. Big is beautiful.
Alexander Cha’Ban: Hypnotype
This font hypnotises you! Professor Alexander did some serious research.
